This handcrafted blanket chest is constructed from highly figured Curly Maple hardwood lumber and is lined with Aromatic Cedar. The shape of the legs results in an Asian feel for the overall appearance of the chest. The shape is very pleasing to the eyes.

This blanket chest was constructed the old fashion way with tight fitting wood joints and glue. The only screws in this piece are the ones holding the hinges in place. The base is 42" wide, 18 3/4" deep and 19" tall. The top overhangs approximately 1" around the base. The top is secured by a new style of hinges that are similar to laptop computer hinges. Once the top is open to 45 degrees, it will remain open without any additional support. This makes for an overall cleaner look of the chest.

The finish is a homemade receipt that protects the wood but gives the appearance of a hand rubbed oil finish. The finish can be easily repaired by the buyer should it be damaged during its lifetime. I will provide the receipt and supplies needed to do repairs at the time of pick-up.

There will be no shipping on this item. There are just too many things that can go wrong with freight shipping. If you pick the item up from me, I will credit you $60.00 toward the purchase price. I will meet you or deliver to anywhere within 150 miles of my home.
